St Giles Croxden

Welcome to Our Church

St. Giles Church is a friendly, Anglican church based in the historical hamlet village of Croxden near to Uttoxeter in North Staffordshire.

During the winter our Sunday service is at 3pm each week. In the summer it is either 3pm or 6pm.
This is the usual monthly pattern:
First Sunday  - Holy Communion (6pm in summer)

Second Sunday - Family Service

Third Sunday - Evensong (6pm in summer)

Fourth Sunday - Holy Communion

For details of services across the benefice, please look at the Welcome page.

Snowdrops in the churchyardWhat to expect: A relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Songs and hymns that are easy to join in with.  Down to earth teaching from the bible. A choice of places to start finding out about Jesus.  Small groups to make new friends. Opportunities to get involved in helping others.

Going somewhere new is never the easiest thing to do, so we hope our website helps you learn more about us, and makes that first visit easier. When you're ready, we have a Service every Sunday where we'd love to say hello in person.

We know St Giles won't be perfect for everyone, so if we’re not quite what you’re looking for, check out our other churches in the Benefice - St. Michael's Rocester and St. John's Hollington as well as All Saints in Denstone.  We are sure that at one of our churches you'll find a home that suits.

And remember, if you’ve got any questions, just get in touch.

Each year we hold a Rogation Sunday service on a local farm and enjoy cake and tea afterwards.

Rogation Sunday

Rogation 2019

rogation 2019

Rogation Service was held at Homestead Farm,

We were blessed with beautiful weather and had a lovely time.

The service was slightly early for Rogation, but that doesn't matter!

We thanked God for His goodness and prayed for all who work upon the land and for God's blessing on this year's crops.

Plough Sunday

We had a wonderful time at the Plough Sunday service on 13th January 2019.   The local farmers gathered around our traditional horse drawn plough for a blessing on their ploughing and work in the coming year.
